Carlos is a veteran photojournalist at the Minnesota Star Tribune, where he covers a wide range of assignments, including news, sports, features and portraiture. He is a two-time Pulitzer Prize winner for breaking news reporting.

Carlos has also served as an adjunct instructor and Industry Inclusion Fellow at the University of Minnesota’s Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication. He is an Ochberg Fellow with the Global Center for Journalism and Trauma at Columbia University.

His photography has been recognized with numerous industry honors, including awards from Pictures of the Year International (POYi), Best of Photojournalism (BOP) and others.
